Gone with the wind

Years seem to run away at an accelerating speed when you are older.  It is more than 2 years since I wrote last time on this page.  What have I been doing these two years?  I have visited Cyprus, first time after 50 years, when I was there as a young man at the top of my career, as an Engineering Officer of the Finnish Contingent of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus.  Not much have changed in the old town of Nicosia.  There were cocktails in the Embassy of Finland in Nicosia and the Ambassador kept a speech in honor of us Cyprus veterans.
And last winter I stayed in Spain, a few kilometers south of Malaga, in the town of  Fuengirola.
In that town there are lots of people from the Nordic countries, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. There are local newspapers and radio station in Finnish language there, and many Finnish restaurants.
When I came back to Finland in April, there were no snow anymore in South Finland.  That`s why I flied to the north, to Lapland, where I stayed a couple of weeks in Levi area, skiing cross country and some downhill.
Of course I could have been able to ski also in Spain, there is snow in Sierra Nevada near Granada, but I have never been there, only on the beeches of Andalucia.  Maybe next time?

Last summer I kept on sailing with my small (22 feet) sailing boat, called Alma, with my good old friend Jan-Erik in the Gulf of Finland,  usually visiting the small islands near the town of Turku.

Now I found this helpx after two years, and there are so many places that seem worth visiting that I really don´t know yet what shall I do!
